Armenian Retro Vans
Eraz means "a dream" in Armenian.
But it is also an abbreviation for Yerevan Automobile Plant which gave name to a brand of very special Armenian minivans manufactured between 1966 and 1996.
We bought one from 1992 and transformed it into a camper - which might be the first one ever made out of an Armenian vehicle. And now you can rent it!
Why should you? Because Armenia is one of the most beautiful countries on planet Earth, with its mountain ranges and plains, icy high-elevated lakes and glaciers, medieval monasteries, vineyards of Ararat valley and roughly 300 sunny days per year.
We believe that crossing this country overland, camping in its' mountains and sleeping under its' stars might be an adventure to live for and we offer you an ultimate machine to do so - a mighty and stylish ERAZ. Will you go for it?
P.S. If ERAZ sounds like too much extreme for you, we may also offer Volkswagen Transporter 3 for the same price and with the same equipment.
Prices for 2025:
1 - 3 days: 140 €/day
4 - 7 days: 130 €/day
8 - 14 days: 110 €/day
14+ days: 100 €/day

A: 1 year
Q: What documents do I need to rent with Armenian Retro Vans?
A: International passport and driving lisence will suffice.
Q: What document for the van you will give me?
A: Contract, proof of payment (including deposit) and registration certificate for a car. You don’t need a printed proof of third party insurance.
A: Manual.
Q: Is it safe?
A: Yes, as long as you remember that this is a retro vehicle and don’t push it too hard. The vehicle is NOT equipped with seatbelts and should not be driven faster that 60-70 kilometres (40-45 miles) per hour.
Q: What fuel does the engine run on?
A: Pure gasoline, baby!
Q: What type of engine is it anyway?
A: It's a four cylinder ZMZ-402 from a legendary soviet Volga car, sometimes referred to as a Soviet take on muscle cars (this was of course a bit of stretch to say the least). 100 horse powers, huge numbers for Soviet car industry.
A: Yes, if you don't buy a full-cover insurance, we will ask you to leave a deposit an equivalent of 500 US dollars in case of damages inflicted to the vehicle.
Q: Can I pay a deposit with a credit card?
A: Yes, you can.
Q: How do you accept payments?
A: The default payment method is payment by credit card on the website of our partners getrenacar.com. They use Stripe so it is secure. problem free. Visa and Mastercard issued by any country in the world will be accepted. Russian cards, including MIR, are accepted too.
Q: Is payment upfront required for booking?
A: Yes, at least some part of it.
Q: Can I pay with cash on the spot?
A: We are really flexible and will accept payment in pretty much any monetary form. Just text us and we will figure something out.
